AFRICA – The Africa Food Safety Summit is thrilled to register Irish multinational taste and nutrition company, Kerry, as one of its event Sponsors.
Since 1972, Kerry has evolved from a small dairy company in the southwest of Ireland to a global multinational delivering authentic food and beverage taste ingredients designed to appeal to health-conscious consumers.

In addition, its food safety systems are risk based with an emphasis on hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), hazard analysis and risk-based preventive controls (HARPC) where applicable, vulnerability assessments and strong prerequisite programmes to meet current and future requirements.
The company participates on a variety of technical boards and working groups that represent and promote the views of the food and beverage industry globally and throughout each region, using science-based advocacy to help shape public policy.
It is also affiliated with SSAFE a non-profit organization promoting the integrity of the global food system.
Last month, Kerry, flagged off an Application and Development center in Kenya, to support its customers in East Africa and drive innovation in the sector.
The expansion in East Africa follows the launch of Kerry’s Future Food Africa commitment, which recognizes the challenges facing the continent and that African producers need African solutions to deliver sustainable, healthy nutrition solutions.
In the same month, Kerry opened the largest cutting-edge taste manufacturing facility in Africa located in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Campbell Mitchell, Kerry’s Regional Quality & Food Safety Director, Middle East, Indian sub-continent & Africa, will represent Kerry in a panel discussion under the topic, “Transformational Leadership in Food Business Organisations & Mainstreaming Food Safety in Africa’s Food Industry”.
Campbell has worked with Kerry for almost 4 years rising through the leadership ranks over the years. Prior to joining Kerry, he served as the Quality Director for Arabian Agricultural Services Company (ARASCO), the leading food security enterprise in the Middle East.
He has been in the quality assurance and compliance sector since 1992 when he debuted his career as a Laboratory Technician.
About 2022 Africa Food Safety Summit
The 2022 Africa Food Safety Summit in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB) is Africa’s premier and largest international food safety, quality management and conformity conference and exhibition.
The Summit brings together regional and global experts and stakeholders to share the latest trends in science and technology; regulations, standards and compliance; operations and sustainable adoption of food safety practices and technologies in the entire agriculture and food value chain in Africa.
Held in physical and virtual format, the Summit aims at providing the platform to boost quality, food safety and conformity in Africa and the region’s fast rising food and agriculture sector that will enhance trade in local, regional and global markets.
The 2022 edition of the Summit will be held together with the AFMASS Youth Summit – a pan-African mentorship, networking and capacity building platform for university students and young professionals and budding start-up entrepreneurs in Africa’s food and agriculture sector.
