EGYPT – Azelis, a leading innovation service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry, has announced the opening of a food laboratory in Cairo, Egypt, as part of its efforts to expand its food and nutrition presence in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
The new facility, though will primarily focus on dairy and beverages, is equipped to service various food sectors.
“We are very happy to have this new application laboratory in Egypt, focusing on dairy and beverages. The lab is equipped with modern technology to best support our customers. We will utilize our lateral value chain and our skilled technical staff to bring new, innovative formulations to the market,” said Mattar, Country Manager at Azelis Egypt.

The company revealed that the lab team has already begun formulating for customers, and the team will hold regular seminars and training sessions.
Azelis flagged off its Regional Innovation Center (RIC) for Food & Nutrition (F&N) in Singapore mid-last year, further demonstrating the Group’s commitment to continuously invest in its innovation capabilities.
It highlighted that the RIC will generate a wealth of possibilities for food innovation towards healthier and tastier solutions through pioneering, ready-to-use formulations with advanced, sustainable ingredients.
“Azelis continues to grow its presence and investments in the MEA region and we’re proud to have this new state-of-the-art facility to improve and optimize our formulations. ”
Functioning as an innovation catalyst for the F&N ecosystem in Asia Pacific, the RIC is an essential milestone in Azelis’ growth strategy, strengthening its position as a leading provider of innovative solutions.
In addition to the RIC, Azelis’ five F&N application laboratories across Asia Pacific form a regional innovation network that brings together the technical expertise and formulation capabilities of the local and regional teams for greater synergy, said the company.
According to the company, the setup allows Azelis to serve the F&N market more efficiently, realize advanced ingredient synergies and develop ground-breaking formulations and sustainable solutions that will be cascaded across the region.
