U.S – FoodChain ID has successfully acquired Organic Certifiers, Inc., a pioneering certification body accredited by the USDA National Organic Program.

This acquisition propels FoodChain ID into the ranks of the top five certifiers for the USDA National Organic Program by the total number of operations, marking a significant milestone in the industry.

The organic food market in the United States has experienced exponential growth, reaching a record value of nearly U.S$62 billion in 2022.

Consumer interest in sustainability and the perceived health benefits of organic products continues to drive this trend, as reported by the Organic Trade Association.

To meet the increasing market demand, food growers and manufacturers seek reliable certification experts with a profound understanding of organic certification intricacies.

FoodChain ID’s existing organic certification entities, Bioagricert and Cosmocert, are already renowned pioneers in the field, collectively certifying over 23,000 organic farms and producers annually across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

The acquisition of Organic Certifiers, Inc. further strengthens FoodChain ID’s capabilities and positions the organization as a key player in supporting the expanding organic sector.

Heather Secrist, Senior Vice President, Technical Services Americas at FoodChain ID, expressed the company’s commitment to a safe and transparent food supply.

“The addition of Organic Certifiers, Inc. to the FoodChain ID team deepens our capabilities and reaffirms our commitment to USDA Organic Certification. We’re pleased to add the expertise and operational excellence of the Organic Certifiers team,” she stated.

Founded by the Siple family in Ventura County, California, Organic Certifiers, Inc. has been a trailblazer since its accreditation by the USDA in early 2002.

Susan Siple, founder and owner of Organic Certifiers, emphasized the company’s dedication to client-focused certification services, rooted in common-sense approaches. She expressed satisfaction that their commitment to clients will continue under the umbrella of FoodChain ID.

With over 25 years of experience in global sustainability certifications, FoodChain ID serves over 30,000 companies globally, providing technology-enabled solutions and technical expertise for food safety, regulatory compliance, product certification, testing, and product development.

The acquisition of Organic Certifiers, Inc. further underscores FoodChain ID’s dedication to advancing the organic certification landscape while ensuring the safety, compliance, and transparency of the global food supply chain.

FoodChain ID recently partnered with ReSeed, the pioneer of full lifecycle carbon credit traceability, to ramp up sustainability practices within the agri-food supply chain.

The collaboration aims to enhance transparency in measuring and verifying sustainable practices, particularly focusing on carbon sequestration through regenerative agriculture.
