EUROPE – Ishida, a global leader in weighing and inspection solutions, has bagged the Best Food Safety Innovation award at this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing Industry Excellence Awards for its latest innovation, the IX-PD X-ray inspection system.

Ishida’s IX-PD X-ray inspection system is designed to empower manufacturers in overcoming these challenges.
The system introduces new sensor and image processing technology that elevates detection sensitivity to unprecedented levels.
With ultra-high resolution and clearer imaging compared to conventional X-ray systems, the IX-PD can identify low-density and extremely small foreign bodies with remarkable accuracy.
This includes detecting bones in fish fillets and minute stainless steel wires, ensuring the highest standards of food safety without compromising productivity.
Unrivaled detection capabilities
In comprehensive tests, the IX-PD demonstrated near 100% detection rates for bones in various products, such as chicken, diced meat, and sausages.
For instance, it achieved an impressive increase from 40% to 100% compared to existing X-ray technologies when detecting bones in chicken breast fillets.
The system’s enhanced detection capabilities minimize the need for manual inspections, offering companies the assurance of stringent quality control procedures without sacrificing efficiency.

Last year, the company introduced a brand-new range of multihead weighers at the Gulfood Manufacturing expo held in Dubai.
According to Ishida, the new line of multihead weighers, which represents the company’s 11th generation, will provide unmatched levels of speed and precision, particularly when handling more difficult items.
