FRANCE – SGS, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, has revealed the appointment of Géraldine Picaud as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from the Annual General Meeting on March 26, 2024.
Picaud will succeed Frankie Ng, who expressed his desire to step down, ensuring a smooth transition in leadership.
Frankie Ng, who served as CEO for nine years, is credited with steering SGS through significant expansion, solidifying its position as the world’s leader in testing, inspection, and certification services.
He expressed his excitement about handing over the role to Picaud and recognized the dedication and contributions of the company’s workforce.
The Board of Directors at SGS decided after a rigorous selection process, emphasizing the strategic importance of choosing the right leader to guide the company through its next phase of growth and profitability.
Géraldine Picaud, currently leading Finance, Digital and Strategic Transformation, Mergers & Acquisitions, IT, and Procurement at SGS, brings a wealth of experience from her senior management roles.
Her previous positions include Group Chief Financial Officer at Holcim and Essilor International. She currently serves as a non-Executive Director and chairwoman of the Audit Committee at Danone.
Calvin Grieder, Chair of the Board of Directors, expressed confidence in the transition, praising Picaud as an inspiring leader with the right blend of strategic vision and operational execution skills. The Board believes she is well-equipped to lead SGS into its next phase of success.
