U.S – Sysco Corporation, the global foodservice leader, has joined forces with iFoodDS to embark on a project to revolutionize compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) 204 Food Traceability Rule.
This venture aims to redefine how data is captured, stored, and shared across Sysco’s vast supplier network, ensuring an elevated standard of safety and transparency in the food supply chain.
Charles Leftwich, Sysco’s Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, expressed the company’s sense of responsibility.
“As the global leader in foodservice, Sysco has a responsibility to ensure compliance solutions can be implemented for use across its broad supplier network,” he stated.
The collaboration with iFoodDS signifies Sysco’s dedication to creating a safer, more efficient, and transparent food supply chain for both its U.S. supplier partners and customers.
The focus of the project is to implement a flexible, scalable, and interoperable traceability solution. This solution aims to provide Sysco’s diverse supplier base with pragmatic options for sharing crucial data required by the FSMA 204.
By doing so, Sysco and iFoodDS seek to streamline compliance processes and set a new standard for traceability in the food industry.
Scott Mathews, CEO of iFoodDS, emphasized the company’s expertise in partnering with large-scale enterprises and its commitment to simplifying compliance.
“As the only traceability platform with a proven and scalable solution, iFoodDS can make FSMA 204 compliance easy for Sysco and its broad network of supplier partners,” Mathews declared.
