U.S – In order to help businesses achieve operational compliance with the FSMA 204 mandate, iFoodDS, the industry leader in connected traceability, quality, and food safety solutions for the fresh food supply chain, has announced the formation of a consultancy division called New Era Partners.

The Food Safety Modernization Act Section 204 Food Traceability Rule, recently published by the FDA, establishes new traceability recordkeeping requirements for firms that manufacture, process, pack, or hold certain foods on the Food Traceability List.

New Era Partners will be co-led by Matt Regusci, a co-founder of Azzule|PrimusGFS, and Andrew Kennedy, a former FDA traceability expert who worked on the development of FSMA 204.

According to iFoodDS, no team is better suited to assist businesses with the regulatory and practical implications of the new regulation and the best ways to comply.

“FSMA 204 is complex, especially for grocers, foodservice operators, and processors. With our deep understanding of the rule and the supply chain, New Era Partners can quickly help enterprises understand the rule’s impact on their operations and objectively identify paths to compliance.

“Progressive enterprises that start planning now will protect their brand and gain a competitive advantage,” said Andrew Kennedy, Principal Traceability Advisor at New Era Partners.

Some of the services offered include executive briefings for enterprise operations, IT, and legal executives on the rule and its impacts, and Supply Chain Traceability X-Ray.

Supply Chain Traceability X-Ray involves analysis of an enterprise’s current compliance status and visualization of gaps across their supply chain, enabling accurate risk assessment and compliance effort scope.

Advisory services will be coordinated by Andrew Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy is a food traceability expert (precisionFDA expert profile), a former co-leader of the FDA’s New Age of Smarter Food Safety, Core Element 1: Tech-Enabled Traceability, and a team member of the FSMA 204 working group (proposed rule public meeting).

Prior to joining FDA, Mr. Kennedy co-founded FoodLogiQ and served as the temporary head of IFT’s Global Food Traceability Center.

He collaborated on the creation of many best practices and standards for food traceability.

Compliance services will be led by Matt Regusci.

One of the top businessmen in the Testing, Inspection and Compliance (TIC) industry is Mr. Regusci.

He co-founded Azzule|PrimusGFS, co-owned WQS, and co-founded TrainToComply throughout the previous ten years.

“The industry is making progress on the promise of traceability, but organizations across the supply chain need guidance on how FSMA 204 impacts their unique operations and how they can leverage traceability to improve their business practices.

“Andrew Kennedy and Matt Regusci’s expertise is unmatched in the industry and will be of great value to enterprises needing a strategy to meet the FSMA 204 mandate and move their businesses forward,” said Robert Whitaker, Founder of Whitaker Consulting.
